Dialita
Music Performance
Sunday, 1 December 2024, 19.00-21.30 Western Indonesian Time
Wahyu Sihombing Theater, Taman Ismail Marzuki
Closing the 2024 JILF x Jaktent on F/ACTA, Words and Actions Aligned on Eco-Literature and Shared Culture, Shared Future on 1 December, alongside Farwiza Farhan who delivers the closing speech, the inspiring Dialita Choir will bring their unique blend of history, resilience, and music to the stage. Dialita’s performance will beautifully complement Farwiza Farhan’s closing speech, creating a powerful dialogue between music and environmental advocacy. Just as Farwiza champions the preservation of Indonesia’s natural ecosystems, Dialita fights to preserve the songs and stories of its people, reminding us of the interconnectedness of history, culture, and the environment.
Composed of female survivors of the 1965 tragedy, Dialita has transformed songs from Indonesia’s silenced past into powerful expressions of hope and truth. With their rich harmonies and emotionally charged performances, Dialita not only preserves Indonesia’s cultural heritage but also sparks meaningful dialogue about humanity and justice.
