The world has entered an era of global boiling and an intolerable climate crisis. The biggest contributing factor is the energy sector. This means that a clean energy transition is an urgent agenda that we must push together. However, the energy transition is not only about fulfilling global commitments to alleviate the climate crisis and reduce the rise in earth’s temperature. Fair values must be present in the process. This is because the energy transition touches multidimensional and cross-sectoral aspects of society. Moreover, there are complexities in energy governance because it is intertwined with power holders and capital owners. The discussion “Towards A Just Energy Transition” is based on an article in the book Struggle for a Just Energy Transition: One Issue with Various Dilemmas will dissect the importance of clean energy transition policies that uphold human rights principles.
