Kristal Firdaus

Kristal Firdaus was born in Tanjung Redeb in 1999. He moved to Samarinda, where he completed his bachelor’s degree in International Relations at Mulawarman University. He writes, photographs, runs a small business, and actively creates poetry using a typewriter through the project @ngamen.puisi. His works explore themes of identity, memory, the journeys of the body, and its relationship with God. In 2025, he was selected as one of the Emerging Writers at the Makassar International Writers Festival (MIWF). His poems appear in the anthology Lapis Penyair Mutakhir Kalimantan Timur: Cermin Lain di Balik Pintu Lamin (2023) and In The Back of My Throat (Annamot Press, 2024), edited by Norman Erikson Pasaribu and Tatevik Sargsyan. His debut poetry collection, Menidurkan Bahaya (2025), was published by Velodrom.
