Mama Fun
Indonesia
Beta Marlinda Nau, widely known as Mama Fun, is deeply rooted in the world of food as a way of life and cultural expression. She revives ancestral Timorese recipes that were nearly forgotten and reinterprets them with creativity while staying grounded in local ingredients. For her, food is more than physical sustenance—it is knowledge, identity, and a way of honoring the relationship between humans and the land. From her humble kitchen, Mama Fun empowers communities, especially women, by encouraging food sovereignty and cultural resilience. To her, Timorese cuisine is not a relic of the past but a living force that continues to grow.
