Angela Flassy is a journalist, writer, and filmmaker whose works are rooted in the social and cultural pulse of Papua. Since beginning her journalism career in 2004, she has led Suara Perempuan Papua (2010) and Jubi.id (2018), two media platforms that provide space to the voices of women and Indigenous communities. Angela is actively involved in youth literacy activities and community-based writing initiatives. Her short story collection Kitorang (2012), along with various works in Papuan Malay, sheds light on the resilience and everyday wisdom of Papuan life. She has produced five documentary films and directed one of them, Suara Lembah Grime (2023), an in-depth portrait of place and voice. Currently, Angela works as an editor at Jubi.id and regularly teaches writing and social media content creation for women’s groups throughout Papua.
