Indonesia
Esther Haluk is a Papuan poet, activist, and advocate for women’s human rights. Her work focuses on accompanying women and children who face structural violence, displacement, and human rights violations in Tanah Papua. She currently serves as Secretary of the Women’s Ministry Department of the KINGMI Church Synod in Tanah Papua, leading pastoral support, trauma healing, and community-based advocacy in remote areas and conflict zones. She also builds networks of solidarity through the West Papua Feminist Forum and Pacific feminist movements that fight for ecological justice, peace, and protection of women human rights defenders. For her, the lived experiences of Papuan women are sources of knowledge and political strength in the struggle for justice and dignity.
