Ida Fitri was born in Bireuen, Aceh, and lives in East Aceh, where she works in the public health sector while writing fiction. Her short stories have appeared in various national media. The emotional landscapes of women, memory, and rural life in Aceh are themes she often explores. She has published four books: Air Mata Shakespeare (2016), Cemong (2017), the short story collection Neraka yang Turun ke Kebun Kelapa (2023), and the novel Paya Nie (2024). Paya Nie won third place in the 2023 Jakarta Arts Council Novel Competition, and was nominated for the 2024 Tempo’s Book of the Year and the 2025 Kusala Sastra Khatulistiwa. Her work Neraka yang Turun ke Kebun Kelapa was also nominated for the Literary Award of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (2024).
