The Jakarta Arts Council Literary Criticism Competition has been held since 2007. In addition to the competition, Literature Committee of theJakarta Arts Council Literary has some programs to foster a new generation of literary critics, among others managing a literary criticism website, tengara.id, which enlivens the world of literary criticism in contemporary Indonesia and publishes a number of the literary criticism competition winners, as well as readings and studies of the works of writers.
Awarding Night for “100 Years of A.A. Navis” Literary Criticism Competition “Navis’ Satirism”
In welcoming the important moment of 100 years of A.A. Navis, as well as celebrating the writer A.A. Navis’ birthday by UNESCO as an international celebration day, the Jakarta Arts Council’s Literature Committee in collaboration with the Language Development and Fostering Agency of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology held a Literary Criticism Competition that highlights the figure of A.A. Navis in the world of literature, entitled “Navis’ Satirism”. Through his works, Navis presents a local Minangkabau nuance that depicts the dilemmas and challenges faced by humans universally with strong nuances of irony and satire. The “Navis’ Satirism” Criticism Competition has been open from the end of March to September 2024. Until the closing of the competition, 166 manuscripts were collected.
Awarding Night for “100 Years of A.A. Navis” Literary Criticism Competition “Navis’ Satirism” will be held in conjunction with JILF x JakTent to announce the winners of the competition. At this award night, the jury will read out the judges notes.

100 Years of the Authors Night
On the awarding night, there will also be readings of the works of four great Indonesian writers whose 100th birthday celebrations coincide this year, celebrating A. A. Navis, Ali Audah, Sitor Situmorang, and Subagio Sastrowardoyo.
